I’m usually very private about my prayers and what I ask for.  I’m afraid of being looked at as weak.  I thrive on coming up with answers to problems before they can become issues.  However, today, I’m afraid.  I’m afraid, I don’t have the answers.  Therefore, is it my problem?  Is it my burden to bare? Or should I leave it alone and allow everyone to take their ownership for their burden that has been set for them?  Now I pray… Dear Father,  I give myself to you.  You know my cry and my wants.  I ask that you guide and protect my family.  Help us to make the proper decisions that will keep us on the track that you have set for us.  Help us to not be afraid of anything and continue to have the boldness and fire that separate us for the many. I thank you for the wisdom and the constant reminder that you are in my life and the lives of my loved ones. Thank you for sparing life for another day and thank you for making me a vessel for your words.  I’m ready for whatever you give to me and I will cast all fears aside because I know you know best.  I will continue to take a proactive stance in living the life that is worthy in your eyes and I will continue to love as you too love.   In Jesus name. Look at that view. Can you imagine sitting on that bench every day? Just being one with the sounds of nature and your thoughts. Visualizing yourself doing great things. Beautiful. Look really hard. The first time I saw this photo, I thought “Artist and Manager relationship”.  (Don’t ask me how I did that. Lol.) Can you tell which one is the ARTIST and which one is the MANAGER? ARTISTS (and this applies to DJs, PRODUCERS, etc. too):  Have you ever felt like you’ve wanted to put a rope around your Management/Representation and wrangle them back to their role?  Have you had Management who was acting like they were more the Artist than YOU?  Well you’re not alone.  I’ve heard a million stories about this and I witness many Management DO NOTS every day.  This is the way I see it… ARTISTS:  In any Management relationship you’re supposed to feel like you’re Number One.  It doesn’t matter if your Management has TWO clients or TWENTY clients, you are entitled to feel like the MAIN PRIORITY. MANAGERS: the majority of your role is behind the scenes.  It’s the ground work; the phone calls and building the foundation so your Client has a long and effective career.  Sometimes you play the role of mother, father, brother, sister, therapist, bail bondsman (hey, it happens!), etc., but its supposed to be a trusting relationship. Managers have to be comfortable enough to know that their own spotlight may not come unless their Clients do well.  But what’s wrong with that?  Anyway, whether you’re a Suge Knight or P. Diddy type of Manager, know that as long as you represent an Artist or DJ, THEY ARE THE PRIORITY.  So Artists, when seeking a Manager make sure that - whether they have a full time job or not - YOU always feel like you’re the prize pig (I mean that as a positive and encouraging term). Lastly, before moving to the work, Manager and Client, make sure you both feel like you can trust each other.  You’re going into a marriage (so to speak), so both of you have to do your part to maintain a strong relationship.  Above all, don’t forget: HAVE A CONTRACT AGREEMENT! FIGHTING DIRECTION

Haven’t we all asked for guidance?  Or said “show me a sign” or “Heads or Tails”? LOL

We read so many books that tell us to “Do what we love”.  We also listen and read many inspirational quotes that say “Don’t give up”, but how do we decide between “OBLIGATIONS AND DREAMS?

Here’s my bottom line…agree or not…my view.

First, your “OBLIGATION” is to yourself to be happy.  If you’re unhappy, then you most likely will lack drive, motivation and/or ambition to fulfill your obligations (whatever they be).  If you have “DREAMS” be realistic with them and how they measure in your life circumstance NOW.  

I know, easier said than done but People, let me tell you, I dream and like Jazmine Sullivan’s song, I “Dream Big”.  Difference is, as much as I know I can (and I do) fulfill my dreams, I make sure I don’t jeopardize my obligations with them.  

Bottom line….Don’t fight the direction, just map out a solid journey that allows you to visit both places. We as humans have to dream, its the only way we can look forward to greener pastures.

                    Found the Missing Piece to My Puzzle

Dear Universe,

Thank you. Thank you once again.

I’ve been having the hardest time thinking about “How do I introduce people to the other side of me? What I like and what I don’t.  How I deal with life and the music industry and of course, the people within it.”  Well after searching the net and observing my Twitter account, I noticed that more than one person included Tumblr.com inn their tweets.  I needed to know what it was because I figured it must be something if two people in 3 mins said something about it. 

I did my research. I asked my “Tekkie Guru”, Neeks aka YoungFreshNew and my cousin, Patrick aka Mista Vybe and we all agreed, this forum was the missing piece in assisting me with sharing this chapter of my life.  Don’t get it twisted, I have a lot more pieces to come, but THIS forum (like many others I’m using - Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc) is the one I need right now. 

Universe, I promise you, I’m going to work my T-Logs like no one else. That’s my Word. 

So Thank You to the Universe, Thank you to Neeks, Thank You to Patrick and Thank You to myself for seeing an opportunity and not ignoring it.

I am an incredible force.
